Another Joins the Herd
Posted by: TedBrown ()

Just purchased a 66 Corsa Convert 4-Speed 140 w/Factory Air. Pretty Cool FM Factory radio that even works. Pretty good shape and happy the get a driver while I redo the 68 Convert. It's got close to 300k on the body and is just worn out (except the engine). I plan to go through it and fix it back to its original glory.

I Will Post Photo next week when I bring it home... it's at my buddy's house right now.

My wife wants the subject of Thinning the herd.

Have not got that far. I actually bought it to have something to drive while I was fixing up the 68 convert. I cant wait to go through it an decode the body tag, etc.

I'm vairy disappointed that you, a bona fide tech expert, cannot ask your buddy to text or email you a photo of the aforementioned 66 Corsa so that you can post it on this thread immediately. grinning smiley spinning smiley sticking its tongue out winking smiley

If it was originally built that way, it's a nice find. I looked for that combo for years with no luck. I found a solid Monza convertible and Corsarized it and added factory A/C upgraded to R134.

The 66 Corsa, 140 AC is was traded before I even got it home. It will be fixed up by one of my Corvair buds and I have a drivable 65 Convert 4 Speed, 140 Monza in exchange.

There is a lot to be said about a car you don't have to fix up at my age.

I have a friend in Huntsville who owns at least 10% of the total existing / surviving ‘66 AC Corsas.

Easy come easy go. The 66 Corsa Convert with AC is gone, but another replaces it.
65 Corvair Monza, 140 HP EFI, 4 Speed Convertible

I know the 66 was worth a few bucks more, but I didn't want to spend the next 2 years or so getting it ready to paint, etc. I just want to enjoy them and plus this one already has my injection system...So I am ready for Helen, GA

It looks to have a '67 dash pad.

I’ve always liked the look the 67 dash pad gives the whole dash. Just looks better than the 65-66 to me.

And a '67 Gauge Cluster. Also has the '65 'mystery box' in the engine compartment, so its definitely a 1965.
