reproduction seat tracks

Has anyone tried these on a 63 bucket seat? Are they a direct fit and do they bolt up to the seat directly? I am not too concerned about them bolting to the floor because I have seat extenders and those are easily modified. Any information would be helpful. Thanks

What end results are you looking to accomplish? The stock seat track are already adjustable. And I am sure you can get a Corvair set for a lot less.

I disassembled my tracks, cleaned them and regressed them. The do work a little better but the larger rollers inside the tracks have flat spots on them. I was looking for something that possibly works better and slides easier.

Your description suggests the seat tracks got a lot of use. Normally that aren't that bad. I've only rebuilt six pairs, but only one needed a roller replaced. If the roller is damaged the track is usually worn out.

Most tracks now have dried out lubricant and maybe some rust. Usually the seat doesn't get adjusted if the same driver is using the car. You might try finding a good set from out West. Of course you really need to dismantle the track to see what shape it is in.

I've had a lot of issues with "repro" stuff the last few years so I'd be wary of "repro" seat tracks.

Well I decided to purchase a set for an experiment. They are an exact fit to the seat and to the floor. Only difference is the finish on the adjusting handle. The original ones are chrome plated, these are just a silver steel finish. They slide so nice and easy.

Ya Know Roger, I keep thinking I'm going to see that thing at the end of my driveway one of these days, but it never happens. Just got back from a 20 mile cruise with Jake and the Dog.

J.O, Thats the plan to show up in your driveway with it one day. With my work schedule and my commute it is tough. Have been making progress lately. I wanna take a ride with it to pick some more potatoes.
