You already have discs, or are going to upgrade? If already, which ones do you have?
If no current parking provision, any chance the calipers can be easily swapped for ones with the feature? Standard GM calipers from some front application?

Didn't Wilwood offer a parking brake only caliper? Really small to fit into tight spots, but might be a simple add-on if you can figure out the mounting.

Do most of the rear disc setups currently offered not have a parking brake option? I've read most of the discussions over the last few years, but don't remember what the general rule is for what calipers are typically used.
Good luck. Following to see what others have come up with.

Yes, a device called a line lock.
And a convenient brick for long term on a hill...

I have 93 Camero disc setups but the hardweae is very bulky and won't fit in.
Yes i have thought about a line lock.

I installed one of these in my rear brake circuit. It holds the car well. Simply. push on the brake pedal, set the lock, and you are done. To release step on the brake pedal again. Note this is only a parking brake, it has no mechanical provision for emergency situations. My brakes and lines are 100% new so I don’t anticipate any major failures.

Has anybody looked at the 65-67 Corvette rear brakes. They were disc with a cable hand brake design and the axle hub assembly is similar to the Corvair.

Not sure if they would fit in the Corvair trailing arm. They worked with 15" rims.

Just throwing the idea out there. I haven't looked into how practical it is.

One nice thing about the 65-67 Corvette disc brakes, they were designed for good pedal feel/pressure WITHOUT using a power brake booster.

I looked at the stock Corvette setup before I bought the LeVair brackets. There is a disc only spindle and a drum spindle for 65. The Corvette spindle has a different spline pitch and the u-joint yoke is not at all the same. The cost of the Corvette drum brake assembly that fits into the back of the rotor is very high as is the special rotor and so is the special backing plate (which fortunately are being reproduced). It probably can be done but it is not as inexpensive and as uncomplicated as using Seville calipers.

Wasn't there an Eldorado caliper that had an integrated park brake lever??? Only two years made tho, so...very hard to find. Just a thought.

Several new cars come with electric rear parking brakes. A separate small disc that actuates and turns off electrically. Some VWs. It would be a nice install so you could just add them on to an existing installation. The Cadillac calipers were and are used in some industry kits. They are troublesome to adjust. The good news is they fit in place of the standard GM Metric caliper. A guy in Southern California was selling complete Wilwood 4-piston kits, including the small drum brake in the middle, adapted for the late model trailing arm.

How about a set of THESE?

Strictly Parking brake disk calipers.

You could even do a electric kit that pulls them with a push of a button and for go routing the full ebrake system.

Mid 80’s El Dorado rear calipers have an integrated cable operated emergency brake system. A little tricky to bleed, but work great when dialed in. These can be used with a front disc from a mid eighties 4x4 S-10 pickup. Levair has the proper emergency brake cable for LM’s.
