() Date: November 05, 2021 03:19PM I picked up a relatively rust free 62 wagon. I have wanted one for quite some time and a nice solid body was a must. Want no part of doing what I did with my 63 Spyder. There will need to be a touch of metal work in the rear quarter. I believe mostly due to battery acid/vapors. But relatively minor. I plan on pulling and going through the power train, not going to even try and start it. Id does have it's original 102 hp wagon engine and 4 speed trans. Will need full interior, but I would have done that more than likely anyway. -Tom ![]() 63' Monza Spyder Convertable (in process) MY Build Thread 62' Wagon rebuild MY Build Thread 65' Monza MY Build Thread 73' NovaSS 454 Big block (Sold) 86' BMW 325es 67' UltraVan 211 "Violet" NFCC, UMCC Grand Island, NY Attachments: ![]() ![]() Re: Wild for a Wagon ![]() Posted by:

() Date: November 05, 2021 04:09PM I absolutely love wagons. Been giving my long term wagon project some love the last few weeks. I think at this point as much as I like convertibles if I could have just one corvair a wagon might be it. Looks like you got a great start on one. I can't wait to see what you do with it Tom, it will be a stunner. Edit to say it's incredible to see the solid front floors. Even my dry New Mexico original paint solid wagon needed floors. ![]() Edited 1 time(s). Last edit at 11/05/2021 04:14PM by The Stig. Re: Wild for a Wagon ![]() Posted by:

() Date: November 05, 2021 06:39PM Yes, quite surprised how solid it is. When I strip it down to bare metal I'll know more but it looks quite promising. -Tom ![]() 63' Monza Spyder Convertable (in process) MY Build Thread 62' Wagon rebuild MY Build Thread 65' Monza MY Build Thread 73' NovaSS 454 Big block (Sold) 86' BMW 325es 67' UltraVan 211 "Violet" NFCC, UMCC Grand Island, NY Re: Wild for a Wagon ![]() Posted by:

() Date: November 06, 2021 02:01PM I have not found any original paperwork. It was last titled in Tennessee in the 80's. This car was built in 11/61, it would be funny if you caught a glimpse of it way back then. I do plan on trying to save the Luby badge. It is quite well made. It is amazing how these cars find their way around! -Tom ![]() 63' Monza Spyder Convertable (in process) MY Build Thread 62' Wagon rebuild MY Build Thread 65' Monza MY Build Thread 73' NovaSS 454 Big block (Sold) 86' BMW 325es 67' UltraVan 211 "Violet" NFCC, UMCC Grand Island, NY Edited 1 time(s). () Date: November 07, 2021 10:24AM Welcome - Wagon. I just looked at my Lakewood and sure enough it has those horn covers too. Originally a Michigan car from '61 to '73 the story goes it was driven to California..., and then parked. It was "gifted" to me in '95. Still parked but it is in the process of being given a new life. All the best in this venture. Attachments: Re: Wild for a Wagon ![]() Posted by:

() Date: November 09, 2021 01:27PM The 62 Monza wagon I built an engine for had the horn covers as well. It was no easy chore to remove the rusted fasteners to get to the horns. Working on that car made me want to own a wagon as well. Really cool cars that get a lot of attention in the public. Hopefully your windshield is good as the wagon has its own glass. () Date: November 17, 2021 09:25AM Thanks Chad. Just trying to nail down a plan so I can head in the right direction instead of circles. If I know the overall color, I can start spraying smaller parts the appropriate color such as hinges, jams etc. and be prepared for the outside overall painting in the summer. -Tom ![]() 63' Monza Spyder Convertable (in process) MY Build Thread 62' Wagon rebuild MY Build Thread 65' Monza MY Build Thread 73' NovaSS 454 Big block (Sold) 86' BMW 325es 67' UltraVan 211 "Violet" NFCC, UMCC Grand Island, NY Re: Wild for a Wagon ![]() Posted by:
