Speedometer Drive Gears
Posted by: Wagon Master ()

We all know that the speedo gear that hooks to the cable came in 20-26 teeth and 2 different diameters, depending on diff. ratio and tire size. When in high with any transmission our pinions go 1 to 1 with engine rpm just like a driveshaft on a water pumper.
What is the ratio of the speedo drive gears? The spiral one on the pinion shaft versus the plastic one driving the cable?
When the pinion makes 1 revolution, how many does a 23 tooth plastic gear make?
