Hot Rod Drag week 2021 or bust
Date: September 06, 2021 09:20PM

Well I going to drag week 2021 hopefully my dream may come true and get a thumbnail in Hot rod magazine. Yes my car isn't ready yet but I have like 4 days to get button up. I know haven't posted in a while been busy moved from pa to md last year. My work in the food industry is not slowed down at all so 65-70hrs a week still. But hopefully I can enjoy my 1,000 mile trip next week and have fun with my corvair.

Here's my list. And obviously put windows back in . Have to weld the rear window frame rotted out pretty bad. Also a picture of it at the track earlier this year. Ran 12.03@110mph . I did port the heads and intake and installed a 2004 3800 series 3 supercharger and Northstar throttle body. I will try to post some pics but it takes time trying different sizing apps

Ruff pics of the heads some probably argue with the porting of the exhaust that I went to big didn't keep the shape but it is supercharged so I just want it big to get the exhaust out. and I did pick up about.3 with my upgrades so must of worked good enough.

Pictures of the lower intake opened up to increase air flow and lower the pressurized air temperature.

I did add some color to engine this time.. a nother upgrade I made to my with help from corvair ranch got a factory tank back in it to replace my 7 gallon fuel cell. I figured a 1,000 miles be nice to actually put more than 7 gallons in at a time and nice to have the gas gauge working.

I did install a aluminum radiator earlier this year. Not impressed my old Chevy factory radiator worked better. But I did get a cheap e bay one. I read some reviews and found their fans are are overrated and don't perform as advertised. So I ordered replacement better fans got them installed. Same 12" fan new ones were almost 3/4" larger. So had to drill new holes and was able to enlarge the the fan holes by a inch . Hopefully my new fans make the radiator perform better. Lesson learned get what you pay for. Those name brand name radiator would be cheaper in the long. Should of known better.

Got my hitch on today and wired up. It bolts to the factory motor mount and the bumper. Yes I will be pulling a trailer on my trip. I feel it will be easier to pull a trailer with all the tools supplies and just drop the trailer change tires and run . Then having to unload the car and load everything back in and it would have be organized to fit. I'm renting a 4x6 trailer picking it up today.

Made a new engine cover. It is aluminum and should be lighter than my last one . Might have to come back later and try to make it nicer. No metal brake so it's hard to get a clean bend.
