() Date: July 19, 2021 07:23PM Be FOREWARNED --- the door switches from Clark's are "adjustable" (most likely a common aftermarket switch used on many GM cars of the era) and you supposedly just close the door to "push" the outer collar and plunger through the nut to make it fit. In real life the adjustable collar is difficult to move through the nut and using the door to push it might end up putting a a nice dent in the door frame (AMHIK - LOL). Before hooking up the wire install the switch and see how far it lets the door close. Normally the switch outer collar sticks out too far. If so remove the switch and carefully support the switch nut in vice jaws and tap the plunger and collar down with a hammer through the nut. This usually takes a few tries to make it fit. Don't get carried away with the hammer!! Sorry, only registered users may post in this forum. |
