() Date: June 10, 2021 11:07AM Hi All I have a 66 monza coupe and am looking to catch up with the latest front end geometry mods that people like and have used. Are the s10 2" drop spindles still in fashion ? Is there a better setup to this that allows you to bolt on quick steer arms ? Better bushings ? Better hockey stick adjustable design ? Any help catching me up would be appreciated. Rodney Chesterfield Mi Re: Latest front end and steering mod ideas needed Posted by:

() Date: June 10, 2021 11:40AM Welcome to the CCF! This must be your first foray into Corvairs? The cars are 60 years old and have been fully developed, clear up to national SCCA levels. Some still sell parts to help you repeat what they have been successful with. It's your job to search them out, and decide what will work for you. Right now Jonathan Knapp is showing his autocross front mods in another topic. [corvaircenter.com]. Why it's important to READ the whole topic. Attach some pics of your car as it sets today. () Date: June 10, 2021 05:13PM I bought modified S10 spindles for my 66. I chopped off the S10 steering arm and machined the spindles for Corvair arms, now I have quick ratio arms bolted on them. I also drilled the left spindle for the speedo cable. I use the large-bore calipers that Speedway Motors has for some roundyround truck racers, I had to upsize the master, using a Chevy truck dual master cyl but bigger than the one I started with. () Date: June 11, 2021 07:00AM I used stock hubs and spindles but then had Nate Wolfe change all the stock joints to spherical joints. He also changed the brake reaction rods to adjustable rods with spherical joints on both ends. Chrysler lower ball joint. Flaming River steering box. it is very smooth in the racecar and nice on the street. Search it and get the exact instructions from Nate. He also did a rack & pinion change to his car and posted instructions here. 66RTVair Oregon 1965 Corsa 140 stock 1966 Monza DP Racecar 1968 Monza Parts for now Re: Latest front end and steering mod ideas needed Posted by:

() Date: June 13, 2021 11:16AM I will get some pictures but the racecar is on the ground so there is only about 5" clear under the body. Hard to get decent photos. I'll take some the next time it's lifted. There is always a next time with the racecar! Some of this might help. The basic parts were sourced from Summit. Then fabricated to fit the car. This is the rod ends for the brake reaction rod fabrication. Worth the effort to cut the old rods and weld these in position. Summit1 This is the rod ends I used on the rear to replace the solid rear strut rods. Also worth the time. They are far more adjustable than stock. Curry CE9112-14 (left and right ends) available through Summit Summit if you really want to do it all, here is the link to Nate Wolfes outline. He did mine and it is a world of difference. I am racing but it also works great for a street car.
