Posted by: vairmech ()

Sorry I couldn't help myself. Everyone has a ton of them. GG

Although, what I need is a set of deep rocker covers. actually 2 pair would be nice.

Anyone have any they aren't going to use?

Email please.

Thanks

With no response, I am looking into having some billet pieces made! I'm looking into cost and if the cost is somewhat reasonable I may offer some for sale!

I would think if you found a shop with resto. mod. fab. skills they could section in a 1"-2" piece. Think of it as a mini-tub on a rear wheel drive car.

WM, based on his last post, I kinda get the idea that Ken is looking for Deep Aluminum Rocker Covers, which wasn't exactly stated in the first post.
Yes, you can still widen Aluminum ones, but it would be a lot more work.
Maybe Ken will elaborate, for us.

Yes, aluminum covers is what I was looking for. I tried my HAND, (pun intended), at making the steel ones but it didn't work out.

I got an email from Jeff Ballard that the company that did his deep covers finally found the molds and he is having another run done. I still may get my guy to do a couple of billet ones just for grins. I might even have them customized.

I've got a few pairs of the SC Performance ones that I use with 6 bolts, although none to spare. I like that they have the slits for gasket tabs and borders. It's an interesting proposition to find 140 heads with the center bosses.

Jon Brakke used widened steel ones. Seems like making them would be tedious at best. I never thought about what would be involved but I suppose bolted down would be in order with warpage possibilities and all.

I'm sorry but I'm programmed to call them valve covers. I suppose it's incorrect but I don't know if I can change.

I made the last set , it took 6 stock covers ,not fun but doable.
I’d be interested in a set if someone does a run of Aluminum

Once again my mind wanders. If you only needed room for tall polylocks, how about just extending the center section with a box. Think early Hemi.

I have a pair of Clarks finned aluminum that I might consider selling. They are used but in excellent condition.
