() Date: April 01, 2021 10:31PM a couple weeks ago this one found me and followed me home. The owner was clearing a family estate and just needed it gone. This is my first canadian car and I really like the body color trunk and engine bay! 65k original miles. Everything is very tight and smooth. 110, powerglide unfortunately. One repaint, the only damage is the bumps on the drivers side unfortunately. There doesnt appear to be any filler anywhere that ive found yet upon inspection, but unfortunately the lower exterior body is rusty. Floors and trunk floor still have great original paint on em! I have been enjoying spotting the Canadian oddities. Motor is free. Been almost 20 years since it was last run. Tank is out but a new one was included. I havent had a chance to clean it up or do anything really at all besides unload it yet but im anxious to hear it run when I find some spare time ha Cody Hurley North Idaho (Post Falls) 66 Monza convertible 140/PG, loaded with factory options 66 Corsa turbo coupe, 3rd owner fully documented [corvaircenter.com] 66 Canadian monza coupe 110/pg project car 65 Monza coupe daily driver 110/4 Also 2 Ford f350 IDI diesels, five Jeep FC 170s, 1966 Jeep CJ5A, 1954 International R-150 pickup, 5 Rokon Trailbreakers, and thousands of parts ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Attachments: ![]() ![]() ![]() Re: My new Canadian 66 monza coupe Posted by:

() Date: April 01, 2021 10:33PM The carpet and package tray are gone, and a lot of the interior hardware is missing. The seat vinyl is a little discolored but no tears and is still very pliable. No seat hinges or rear latches, no ash tray and lots of small odd things to be gone, hopefully my parts stash will come through Edited 1 time(s). Last edit at 04/01/2021 10:34PM by sweet66monza. () Date: April 01, 2021 10:39PM Vairy COOL! Besides truck and engine bay paint, there is seat-belts, and aluminum coils, to add a couple more unique items for CAD cars. Other things too, but I don't know them all. I knew an elderly man here, who passed away about two years ago, that used to sell cars at Dueck in Vanc. . Ah! I see you added the seat-belt pic, while I was writing. ![]() -+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+- WA. state, 1 mile south of the Canadian border, I am not at the end of the world, but you can see it from here. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Edited 1 time(s). I see you added the seat-belt pic, while I was writing. ![]() that gets me too often! The original fuel tank is oddly shaped compared to all the rest of the late tanks I have seen. The alternator fan appears to be zinc or silver cad instead of black (havent run the date code yet to verify if its original or not), tail light bases are stamped "made in canada". The fill neck has an anti siphon spring in it (may be aftermarket, curious to see what the experts say). I am sure I will find more as I get into it! () Date: April 02, 2021 05:08PM Here is the odd fuel tank (galvanized) next to the (rusty) tank from the 65 i scrapped several weeks ago. The rusty style tank is what im used to seeing in late models And a pic of the anti siphon spring. This is probably aftermarket but worth showing just in case Cody Hurley North Idaho (Post Falls) 66 Monza convertible 140/PG, loaded with factory options 66 Corsa turbo coupe, 3rd owner fully documented [corvaircenter.com] 66 Canadian monza coupe 110/pg project car 65 Monza coupe daily driver 110/4 Also 2 Ford f350 IDI diesels, five Jeep FC 170s, 1966 Jeep CJ5A, 1954 International R-150 pickup, 5 Rokon Trailbreakers, and thousands of parts ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Attachments: ![]() ![]() Re: My new Canadian 66 monza coupe Posted by:

Joe's Garage is indeed a great visit, but I doubt any Americans will be going there this coming Sept.. B.C. numbers are spiking again. I would say you easily have at least one full year to prepare. ![]() -+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+- WA. state, 1 mile south of the Canadian border, I am not at the end of the world, but you can see it from here. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Re: My new Canadian 66 monza coupe Posted by:

() Date: April 02, 2021 11:00PM Based on Corvairkid, the gas tank on the right is Canadian. Re: My new Canadian 66 monza coupe Posted by:

() Date: April 03, 2021 06:35AM The shiny gas tank is the Canadian one. The "normal" tank will not fit into the Canadian car body cavity without cutting off and bending the extra flanged areas off. The tank isn't just manufactured different for no reason, the cavity size is smaller. My '66 does not have the spring in the filler neck but maybe it was removed at some point. Craig replies: I've found that replacement tanks require the right rear "square" corner to be bent up in order to fit even US-made Corvairs. (late models anyway) Are you saying all corners need modification to fit a Canadian-body car? Craig N. () Date: April 03, 2021 09:16AM I've had to bend the flanges a bit on the repro tanks to fit into US built EM and LM cars as well. I had to remove most of the flanges to fit an old original used US tank into my '66 Canadian Corsa HT - not just a bit of bending.
