Checked the registration for attending Maggie Valley and the fees.
Say one person came and wanted to show up [$20] and walk around checking the cars out.
And then do all the activities, total = $96
Two people who are not family to do the same, another $96
So far $192.
Two commemorative T shirts from Amazon = $43 with tax and Prime free shipping.
This is a total of $255 , and no meals like previous iterations.
I was planning on coming with a pal and displaying a car and each of us running the car in the events.
With the other expenses like hotel, fuel, meals etc this could turn into a $1000 event expense weekend.
Is my math accurate?
Does this seem reasonable ???
Asking for a friend.

I may be reading the form wrong, but I think it would be $60/ person in your deal.

Basic registration- $20
Valve cover race- $5
Rally- $10
Autocross- $15
Peoples Choice- $10
Total- $60

The $25 is for vendor booth and I guess if you have a 61-62 you only pay$6 for People's Choice. So it might be only $54.

T-shirts are what they are I guess. Didn't look at that link.

Not sure how you got $96.

My .02

Someone from the event can correct me if I am missing something

My apologies, my math was defective.
So $120 total per my scenario.
Plus t shirts.
I guess it might make sense to just do the peoples choice.
And possibly the autocross if the course is decent.
Event becomes more reasonable under these assumptions.
Thanks for the correction.

It was fine. Unfortunately nearby Cruso, Bethel and Canton communities were hit very hard. Show is still on.

AUTOCROSS CANCELLED AT VAIRS IN THE VALLEY

Regrettably, we must cancel the Autocross at Vairs in the Valley this year.

One of the benefits of being a Chapter of CORSA, Incorporated is that they provide insurance coverage for Corvair events. Unfortunately, the cost of insuring an Autocross jumped to $1250 in the last few months. CORSA, Incorporated can no longer pay this expense. However, they are willing to let the local Chapters pay for the insurance.

In past years, by the time we’ve rented the Autocross lot and rented the required Porta-John, we have been at an almost break even point. Unfortunately, our little club just can not afford to spend that kind of money either!

We apologize to the Autocrossers who have come in the past and we hope you will still come and enjoy the other activities at Vairs in the Valley.
Maybe by next year a new solution to the insurance issue will be found!
