() Date: February 20, 2021 10:23AM Hi guys, A friend wants to buy my 63 tranny and diff. They came out of a 63 Spyder, 4-speed, and 3:55 ratio with posi. I have no idea what a reasonable price is. I don't think anything major is wrong with it. Gears all work and no funny sounds and doesn't get stuck. Thanks fellas Re: Decent price for a '63 Spyder 4-speed tranny and diff? Posted by:

() Date: February 20, 2021 10:38AM $200-$250 would be very fair. As separate parts, usually 4-sp transmissions are $150 and diffs $200 for good used. Craig N. () Date: February 20, 2021 10:48AM I have also read that the 63 is the only year they made all four gears an equal distance apart, like this: 63: |.|.|.| 1 2 3 4 64: |.|...|.| 1 2...3 4 Yes it is a posi Troy Edited 1 time(s). Craig replies: Sorry but that's incorrect. 61-3 4-sp used in cars all carry the same ratios with the unloved wide gap between 2nd and 3rd. In '64 the 4sp changed design with a new layout that eliminated 2nd gear synchronizer issues and new gear ratios. 3.20 first gear vs. the earlier 3.65 first gear, and evened-out ratio gaps between all gears. () Date: February 20, 2021 11:08AM I missed that it was a post, for that I'd say $250 for sure. Craig N.
