Corvair LS engine with 4T80 transaxle conversion

I thought I would pass this on to the forum. The YouTube algorithm sent me a link to his Subaru powered Beetle conversion and after watching the video his fabrication skills are first rate. Looking at his other published videos I discovered he moved on to another project. I was sad to see him sacrifice a nice solid Corsa for the build but he is doing something different with this project. Take a look and see what you think so far.

I've been following this latest build after I found him while searching for Subaru conversion info. Episode 3 was just uploaded a few days ago.

Very cool build and nice guy too.

He didn't start with a Corsa, he started with a '67.

I agree Dave! I never thought I would say a car has too much power but I would have to say that about his creation. It’s just downright brutal and will send anyone challenging him packing. I like my Beetle with the single cam engine. 165hp makes the car pretty quick and with the gearing it makes for a nice freeway cruiser. I was getting 30mpg on the daily commute.

I’m not sure how many are following his build but he just posted the 5th video showing fabrication of the engine and transaxle mounts. I wish I had his tools/skill set to do something like this.

Yes, he does great work. thumbs up
I just wish he HAD used a '65 Corsa (as originally stated), rather than a beautiful straight '67. sad smiley
