NECC to Honor Warren LeVeque

On November 29, 2020, the Corvair community lost Warren LeVeque to complications from COVID-19. Warren was an innovative race car builder, champion autocross driver, and a great friend to NECC, the Northeast Corvair Council.

And so this year, we're naming our Pocono event the "Warren LeVeque Memorial” in his honor. Please join us for a thrilling day of driving on Pocono's North Course Saturday, July 31st, 2021.

Warren was a fierce competitor and the man to beat at our events. Many times he set FTD at the national CORSA convention. But at the same time Warren was always willing to help others upgrade or fix their Corvairs. He was an incurable tinkerer, designer and builder. If Warren said "this is the way it ought to be, it will work better", you could bet on it!

To honor our good friend, we have decided, with permission from the family, that this year's event at Pocono International Raceway on Saturday July 31 will be called the Warren LeVeque Memorial.

Warren was always in good cheer and always had a smile. His piano performances at our national conventions were a real hoot.

Warren was a long-time supporter of the Northeast Corvair Council. He attended many of our events and often helped us set up courses. You could always count on him.

We are inviting everyone who knew Warren, raced against him, were helped by him, and saw Warren for the good person he was to attend this event, Saturday July 31st at Pocono Raceway. Even if you don't have a car to run on the track, join us. We are hoping his sons Michael and Scott will be there.

Although the virus is making planning difficult, we are working on other activities either that evening or the next day. There will be a lot more details published in the next few weeks.

In Memory of Warren,
The Board of Directors of NECC

Privileged to meet him and his crew and family at Mitty at Road Atlanta a couple of times. So cool to see his Corvairs going around the S turns.

God Speed.

Registration is now OPEN for both of our 2021 high performance driving events. Visit

Saturday, May 22, 2021. New York Safety Track.

Saturday July 31, 2021. Pocono Raceway's North Course. The Warren LeVeque Memorial.

New York Safety Track: No matter if you’re a seasoned professional or a novice driver on a stock or modified platform, this 2.14 mile, grippy, technical track has something for all levels. The elevation changes, sweepers, switchbacks make this a fun course to drive.

Pocono Raceway North Course: This is our Warren LeVeque Memorial event. The North Course offers unique challenges at Pocono, including a long stretch on the banked NASCAR oval to generate lots of speed before ducking back into the twisty infield road course. It's a great place to test your skill and have a blast! In addition to high performance driving, we'll be having a special treat for Corvair owners, including but not necessarily limited to parade laps. Visit our website and see. smiling bouncing smiley
