() Date: January 09, 2021 05:07AM Not sure if this helps because the ad is so vague. The GM part number looks like 3831772...I think?? [losangeles.craigslist.org] Re: WTB Good/very good condition 1962 coupe rear grille Posted by:

() Date: January 09, 2021 08:19AM Close! 3834772. That’s a good price, NOS cheaper than Clark’s repro. And a screw in replacement for the the 61-63 cars. KOOP, any luck on getting a grill? 63 Monza Spyder convertible [www.corvairforum.com] SF Bay Area, CA Re: WTB Good/very good condition 1962 coupe rear grille Posted by:

() Date: January 10, 2021 04:51AM To me, the 1964 Grill only looks good on a 1964. Better than nothing but just not right. The 1962-1963 grill is the best looking grill of all and I can't believe someone does not repop it. Re: WTB Good/very good condition 1962 coupe rear grille Posted by:

The 1962-1963 grill is the best looking grill of all and I can't believe someone does not repop it. I completely agree that the 1962-63 grill is better looking than the 1964 version and that it looks out of place on other year early model cars. As much as I would like to see a reproduction of it, I do understand why it has not been reproduced. Not enough Corvair people would step up and pay the price for it, especially if there was a less expensive alternative available. We have seen this happen with items that have been reproduced then discontinued because of inadequate sales. A couple good examples would be the late model door jamb sections for the hinge areas and lower thermostat shrouds that were once reproduced and now unavailable due to poor sales, maybe late model lower door hinges will be next? It appears that the insulation panels for inside the engine area are going to be discontinued when the current inventory is eventually sold out. IF we want the continued availability of reproduction parts to expand or even continue, we actually need to support the vendors by purchasing these items. JMO 1962 95 F.C. () Date: January 13, 2021 02:04AM No luck yet on the 62 grille. I actually already contacted the Craigslist ad posted here with the 64 grille, asked him if he would do a PayPal transaction so I'd have some recourse in case deal didn't work out, but he wanted me to send a money order. I passed. Re: WTB Good/very good condition 1962 coupe rear grille Posted by:

() Date: January 13, 2021 07:41AM I have an NOS or very nice '64 if you are interested in a '64 - I thought you only wanted a '62-63 (which I am also trying to find a good one I can afford). PM me if you are interested - I think I have more than one and no '64 cars. -Travis '65 Corsa; '63 Convertible; '62 Wagon; '65 4 Door Heart of America Corvair Owners Assocation (Kansas City, MO) [www.hacoa.org] Sorry, only registered users may post in this forum. |
