Can you (anyone) explain the racing mod done to the block rear end pieces to me? I could use one as long as the mod doesn't alter other aspects of the motor. I'll pm gatorfly but I know he is being inundated with pm's and requests. Stay Safe all.

The weld on the rear cover would be to keep oil from leaking around the shaft. I don't see anything that would say racing only. That is a very common solution to an oil leak at that location.

Yup, I usually just put a dab of "right stuff" RTV on that spot as a preventative measure to prevent any possible leak down the road, hasn't let me down.

Good news! After a long stay at the post office this morning and a couple of nasty looks from folks waiting on the line behind me I'm happy to report that the vast majority of adopted parts are on the way to their new homes! Last minute parts post. These will most likely not ship until next week as I'll be out of town for about 5 days smiling bouncing smiley

3 left side late style headlight trim rings, one early license plate trim, a couple of air cleaner brackets, blower pulley, cleaned and primed fan belt bracket, and a very nice set of early visor pivot mounts. PM to adopt!
Enjoy! grinning smiley

No worries Frank smileys with beer Even the Grinch is entitled to an opinion! Besides, I think Canadian Mel is just trying to point out that much of what goes unclaimed once I work through it all just might end up at the crusher sad smiley

By the way, one trim ring, the air cleaner brackets, belt guide bracket, and early visor mounts have been adopted and thus saved from the dreaded crusher! smileys with beer

Gaterfly,

I see you are into RC Airplanes as well. Cars and airplanes seem to go together as hobbies for a number of people.

The attached is a photo of 2 planes I took on a house boat vacation this summer.

I also was a R/C guy- stopped flying when my reflexes slowed to the point where it was a crap shoot on if my plane would go home intact-- also I was a 4-cycle motor guy- and all the new ARF stuff mystified me- nice planes--

Nice looking birds Gary thumbs up My dad was a machinist, welder, mechanic and pilot so cars and airplanes were simply part of growing up in my family. From models to full size aircraft, we dabbled in just about anything that you could drive or fly. And now, many years later, I’m fortunate enough to find myself in a position to still be enjoying both.

> Me to, decided to try one of the new DRONES about two years ago. I didn't get a top shelf one, but a good one. The electronics easily made up for my age. I really enjoy it. I take it on RV trips for some neat aerials. My son decided to out do my and spent about 4x what I did. His is better, but not 4x better. Still have Corvair mentality. If you have some extra bucks for a new toy give it a try.

My son's Drone range is over 5 miles, mine 1500 yards. Either way they are out of sight. Problem is they are getting banned in more places. You can not fly them in nation parks, Pa state game lands and airport glide paths. I happen to live in a glide path, but I set the ceiling level low to stay out of trouble. I get bored with just about everything anymore, but riding my bike.
