() Date: January 11, 2021 04:32AM There's two bellhousing gaskets available from Clarks. If you're installing the EM bellhousing on the LM crankshaft you should maybe use the thinner gasket. Like I said earlier I removed a '63 bellhousing from a '64 engine and thought the seal was way out at the end of the seal surface. () Date: January 11, 2021 06:32PM Jim, you're right . I dry fit the EM bellhousing without the gasket and the seal barely catches the end of the crankshaft seal surface. The flex plate also rubs the seal. Now I'm looking for a LM bellhousing. thank you, Denis 1962 Rampside 1961 Greenbrier Northern California Re: Replacing 80hpPG engine with 110hpPG engine . Options?? () Date: January 11, 2021 07:34PM They make spacers that go between the seal and the bellhousing which moves the seal inward. I believe that Clark's sells them. RJ tools Salem,Oregon ![]() Re: Replacing 80hpPG engine with 110hpPG engine . Options?? Posted by:

() Date: January 12, 2021 05:41AM I've never tried spacing a seal but I've also heard a piston ring of the right size might work. I never seem to have enough LM Manual bellhousings for some reason. I like your idea of just finding the right bellhousing. Lane66 offered a few here recently. Jim Brandberg Isanti, MN CorvairRepair.com ![]() Sorry, only registered users may post in this forum. |
