300+ mile round trip. Brier on Premium gas and 22 mpg. Cruise at 65 mph. "Everyone doing 80 mph on I-5 !!! We're paying nearly $4 a gallon here in Kalyphornia!

Or.

Hybrid on Regular gas and 51 mpg and easily cruise at 75 mph.

Do the math, chop down a tree! Go pee in the bushes!

Steve asks: I count a couple/three Corvairs and several pickups. Was that the total more or less of the attendance? How many Corvair folks were there to look/wander around/visit?

Thank you Phil. I figured with decent weather and lots of advertising before the event that a lot of owners would get their Corvairs out for some exercise and the chance to visit with others. Maybe just another sign of the times.

I have noticed that a lot of people are still staying home due to the China virus. There is no problem playing it safe these days. I'm sure more will participate as and when conditions finally get better.

Yes more folks are playing it safe. Lost two cousins in my extended family to Covid. A good friend lost his pastor to Covid. Another friend still works and where he works a dozen folks have had Covid, some were very sick. His company split into two shifts. A "young" group on one shift and the "older" group on the second shift. The place does critical work and must stay open. They have a professional cleaning crew come in between shifts. It's mostly the younger folks getting Covid outside of work (security has stopped a few with fevers from entering the facilities!!).

Our local club is staying in touch via ZOOM and on the phone. We are looking ahead to better times and safer gatherings.

Getting a dozen Corvair nuts together in these Covid years is nothing to sneeze at. Especially a new event in the middle of farm land. None of our bigger annual events started out big. They grew into it.
