Pinto's came with the British Kent 1600 (push rod), the German EAO 2.0 (OHC), and the USA Lima 2.3 (OHC). Which specific engine are you looking for?

I have a German EAO 2.0 (flex plate, not flywheel, and a crack exhaust manifold) that "smoked when ran." But I'm in California and it would be WAY too cost prohibitive to ship.

I did a quickie search for a 1980 Ford Pinto Engine using the Hollander Exchange website and found one Engine but it is in Texas....MAYBE [www.partshotlines.com]
It is listed as 1979 BOBCAT Engine 4-140 (2.3L) (2.3L, vehicle identification number A, 8th digit, 4-140)
Stock Number W18F528 at Wichita Falls Motorcars LLC, Wichita Falls , TX 76 866-411-1120 Ext 020743 but no price was indicated.

Here is a link for the Hollander Exchange website. It may help. [www.partshotlines.com]

For those who may be unaware, Hollander is a system/service that a large number of Junk Yards use to locate parts on a daily basis.

My mom used to have a 72 Pinto coupe that had a 2000cc with 4 speed. That car ran damned well back in the day.

By chance do you have the Shay? Shay WiKi It was a a Model A replica that came out in the late 70's. If so it would have the 2.3 OHC (Lima) engine. "Similar" 2.3 Lima engines were used into the early 90's Mustangs and Rangers. By then they had EFI, roller cams and some with dual plug heads.
