Need a really LOOOOOOONG extension cord for use in the car. winking smiley
Matt, do you have a 12V one? If so, please post a link.

Accel seems to be the wire brand of choice in my area. I've heard that Cayenne pepper deters rodents because they get it on their feet, wipe their mouth and not wanting to return. I can't say it is effective. Maybe it needs to be used more frequently?

Covid 19 has even my daily driver down to use once every 2-3 weeks. I'm now getting rodents under the hood. The greatest deterrent I've found so far..., leave the hood wide open. But even here in So. Cal. like I am, it is still prudent to keep it close at least 4 months of the year.

What Robert said is exactly what the pest control guy said.

I should have said in three months so far they are gone.

Pest Control deal is for a year...let you know in Sept.

I fully expect to see hold outs come this spring.

On the motorcycle web sites they talk about mice and such all the time in winter bike storage.
Dryer sheets make nice mouse nests. Moth balls get pushed away.
Cayenne pepper works but if your not careful applying it... it can smell when it burns on hot engine parts in the spring.
Zapper traps work. Also those sticky tray traps. However one needs to check the sticky trays regular. If not, the dead rats, mice, squirrels will become food for the rats and mice!

Tell me about it!
When I first moved here, I had a mouse chew 3/4 the way through one of my injector wires.
He did it from behind, and left just a thin skin of insulation remaining.
When I looked at the injectors, it appeared that everything was perfectly fine. When I proceeded to pull the wiring harness from the injectors and then it became evident. eye popping smiley

My brother sprayed peppermint spray under the hood of our Tundra (doesn't get driven a lot - rodents ate the washer hose and some wires under the hood plus built a nest on top of the engine). The peppermint spray worked! Pretty cheap solution but probably has to be reapplied regularly.

Enjoy the Corvair!

I've heard of this kind of pepper infused tape but I have no experience with it. A roll may not go very far if you think of all the wires you may want to protect.

Well they ate the wires on Saturday that I replaced so I guess they aren't picky about what flavor the wires are. Time to spray something they don't like one the engine and start setting up traps outside.

Years ago, I was told about an education film that had real good instructions on how to eliminate vermin.
If I remember correctly, my friend said it was called "Caddyshack"? eye rolling smiley
