Alternator Braces for 10SI alternators. These braces are for the internally regulated (non-production) alternators.

I only have 5 available. Brace will come with needed hardware, lock washer, washer, 1/2 spacer and a bolt. I will supply a 5/16-18 bolt, unless you specify you need a 8 MM bolt.

$25 each plus ship. They fit in a USPS small flat rate box.

first photos shows the braces. Second photo shows the installation and rotation required for the alternator housing for the brace to fit. Photo also shows the way I secured the harness.

Still have 5. Hope I didn't waste time and money on this endeavor. But it sure does look like people would rather run without a brace.

The 10SI is design to be supported at top and bottom on the front housing to give it support.

The Corvair alternator was given the brace as it only has bottom support on the front housing. The brace gives it the needed upper support. Probably prevents cracking of the rear housing in the long run.

About 7 freshly painted ones and a chrome one I have tried to sell for 3 years. You know what that means for the painted ones. Yep, stop dragging them to shows.

Thanks, Greg. Hopefully the one person who said he wanted one before we started making them speaks up before they are gone. If not, he will have to learn to do one himself. My other project cars will keep me busy from now through May, at least.

Thanks for the excellent Brace!

When Al said he would be making a 'few extras' I think I was one of the first to say "sell me one!"

I had changed to the Internally Regulated Alternator a few years ago and the factory unit didn't fit. I was always a little worried every time I drove the More Door.

Al's Brace is a perfect fit and looks good! I put it on the same day it got here, so I can scratch that item off my 'what if' list!!
