That place is not to far from me! I one time traded a dual quad GM intake to him for his inventory of turbo fuel filters.

But then why would you want that heavy part when it is not needed. You can have any combination of the below, Both ends urethane, one end urethane-one end rod end or both rod ends. This is bolt in!

I’m still new to this and will be upgrading my suspension in a month or two when my engine work is complete. So, in the interest of gaining some knowledge, can someone please explain the function and benefits of such parts.

The lower control link needs 6 degrees of freedom - like the axle, so the spherical joint is ideal. Most of these setups also provide easier and more precise camber adjustment. Poly bushings are usually less compliant than rubber and tend to bind. Often they creak and eventually break.
