FOUND!! FC Dash Powerglide Shifter Filler Plug
Posted by: The Stig ()

I am converting a Rampy to Powerglide. I have the shifter. I would like to find this piece as pictured on my '63 rampy. It screws to the back to the shifter and fills the gap on the side. Not needed but would be nice to have to finish the conversion.....

Didn't know there was such a thing. I would like to find one for my Greenbrier. Looks ugly without it.

Can it be made? Does anyone have a photo of the backside?

I suggest checking California Corvairs or the Corvair Ranch.
That tab is attached to the dash cluster on factory equipped Powerglide FC's.
Not real common because many dashes have been swapped out over the years. But
these shops that part out FC's and cars may have this filler plate.

Jeff at the Ranch says he has one - So I have it on order.
Thanks Corventure Dave! Why didn't I think to check with them sooner? confused smiley

Al asked for a picture so here are pictures of the part. Thanks to Jeff at the Corvair Ranch! Here it is pictured with the plug used for standard transmission.

I had thought of trying to cut the standard filler piece - but it is too different to use.

Thank you Stig.

I may not be able to form sheet metal like that, but I can bond 2 pieces together to make a similar piece.
