After 29 Years, My Corvair Is Up For Sale On Bring A Trailer
Posted by: Joe West ()

Hi Gang,

After 29 years of owning my Corvair, I decided it is time to sell it to work on a new project, a 1936 Chrysler Airstream Convertible C8. I am selling it because I have taken my Corvair as far as I think is necessary; there is nothing more I think I need to do to it. At 61, I have had this car almost half my life, and I am truly sad to see it go. I am hopeful it goes to a good owner who will drive it and take care of it.

Bring A Trailer Link to Joe’s Corvair

For 3/4 of my life I have owned Corvairs, it is going to be very strange not to have one sitting in my garage. Speaking of 3/4s of my life... I have gathered quite a bit of Corvair parts, I will make sure to list them here once (and if) my Corvair sells.

Damn... as I type this, I feel sad because I will miss this forum as well. Am I allowed to lurk if I do not own a Corvair? :-)

Best of luck with the sale Joe! That Airstream is incredible!

As far as lurking after selling...I still do, so why not!

Beautiful car Joe, I'm going to be 61 years old next month and my first car was a 66 corvair convertible. Reading your post makes me think how much joy I get owning corvairs. I wish you luck and maybe someday you'll buy a different corvair. Even though I don't know you, you seem like a class act. Good luck on the sale I'm sure you'll get top dollar for that beauty.

Thanks so much for the well wishes. I have always wanted a station wagon Corvair, so I find it likely that I will find one to restore once I finish the Airstream. Speaking of the Airstream... here is the link to the story and images of my 1936 Chrysler Airstream C8 Convertible:

Good Luck with the sale.
Hmmm.
I had never heard of a Chrysler Airstream before.
I thought you had an auto-correct problem and meant Airflow.
Looked them up, it is a beautiful style.
thumbs up NICE!
