WTB RB or RR code 140 for rebuilding
Posted by: ricgflys ()

I have a friend who just bought a 65 Corsa with a 110 exchange engine, no idea where the original went. He is doing a good job of restoring it and wants to put in an RB code block. Already have heads, 140 HP crank available. Floors are replaced, car is headed to body shop next.

I think I have one. I'll go out to the shop and make sure and PM you.

I have 3 RB Blocks - will sell any of them:

T0715RB
T0423RB
T0331RB

All have good studs. T0715RB has been modified with oil drain baffles and enlarged main bearing grooves as described in the "How to Hotrod Corvairs" book by Bill Fisher. T0331RB is good, but needs to be cleaned up.

Let me know if your friend is interested.

Best regards,

It would be good know how complete engine you desire, or is it just a block ?

I know the guy who is trying to build the 140. He has nothing for a 140, except set of Tom K. heads (in process) and 140 crankshaft available to him at this point. But he will be getting piston and rods from Clark's. Ordering engine seal kit from Clark's. He has been given Vairmech info for pressure plate, disc and flywheel. We have the rear cover and top cover for him. We also have miscellaneous items he will be needing.

So the last big thing will be a set of carbs down the road, when it has been built. But if there is a complete 140 within a reasonable distance, I bet he would entertain offers also.

Since the post indicates he wants a Corsa 140 block (not just any 164 cu. in. block), what date range does he want?
I also would entertain offers on a nearly complete or a bare engine. Both stuck, rebuildable cores.

I have a complete RB engine here that isn't stuck, including carbs and linkage, 4 speed bellhousing. No starter or alternator, but everything else is there including most if not all of the tins. $300 takes it, I'm in southern Michigan.

The body is a 06A, we believe. So anything in 5 or 6 would be great. But this is not going to be a concours point seeking car. It will have 66 heads on it if hit gives you some idea. The closer to Georgia, the better. Cam holes need to be in good shape and tolerance.
