OT, assistance needed, '50 Chebby street rod confused smiley

I have been asked to assist an old guy (Craig) down the street.
He has an old Chevy that is going back together, but his bodyman is now in the pokey.
Craig took the car apart 20 years or more ago, And he doesn't remember anything about how it goes back together.
It is like trying to do a puzzle, without having seen a picture of what the finished puzzle will look like!
The Body Tag says it is a '50, but all of the front chrome (Bumper, Grill, Hood Trim, etc) is '49.
He insists that it was never wrecked or replaced.
He has bags of all different kinds of clips to hold the trim on with, but we have no idea which clips are used for which trim? confused smiley
His body guy ripped out all of the 6-Volt, cloth wrapped wiring and started to install a new wiring harness kit. (it is a mess)
Craig has had a few strokes, and his family and friends are afraid that he might never get to see his project completed.
Going to use this China Virus time off to help him out.
Any assistance you could provide would be GREATLY appreciated.
.
Is the an old Chevy Forum out there?

Had a buddy I worked with at a grocery store, this body style and a 301(?) GMC six, but that was many moons ago. Beautiful project, good luck, Mel!

Cool looking car. I have a ‘50 Pontiac. There is a slight chance I’ll be getting an early 50’s Chevy too. Probably can’t be too much help not seeing it in person but I can try to ask questions. Fired up my ‘48 today. It had sat over a month. Turned the key and hit the starter pedal. Fired on the first crank. Nothing wrong with 6 volt.

Scott I think that the big GMC six was a 302.

The factory six was replaced with a 350.
I told Craig that If I had been around when this project was started, I would have encouraged him to retain the old Six Cylinder.
I love seeing Sixes that have been done up with all of the old school speed goodies like, multi-carbs, Fenton Headers, Etc.
.
Stig, you are totally correct that there is nothing wrong with 6Volts.
But the wires were cloth insulated, and that was all rotted, with large portions missing.
