If your top shroud has a fan belt guard, you need to buy the stepped oil line.

So was there 2 different designs on the oil feed line? 1 for cars without the upper belt guide and 1 for cars with it?

No, I haven’t found one yet. Dealing with an issue with my top cover first, but I’m hoping to get both at the same time. I’ll be calling California Corvairs when I can steal a moment later today.

Has anyone ever soldered fins on the line to make it a heat sink? I know there are mods to send cooler oil to the turbo bearing, but I have never seen one before.

Ray Sedman does a mod to the accessory housing to direct cooler oil to the turbo

I was looking for a chrome oil line for a 64 recently with no luck except $72 from Clarks. Since there's a homemade regular steel line on there it's hard to justify the cost for bling but it is a rebuilt engine so the plain one sticks out to my eye.
I'd like to buy one if possible but of course after the original poster has a chance, although this thread is 2 years old. I had my own thread just a few weeks ago. I don't want one with rounded off tube nuts.

I bet you could buy a chrome tube at an auto parts store and then bend it yourself.

I do have a used one that was painted several times. The ends are flared, but if you're talking about the nuts themselves being "rounded" and if that's code for "worn out," then yeah they're probably pretty rounded.

Chrome plating often flakes off when bending and especially when flaring the ends.
