12vconnector for AM radios
Posted by: Setterz54 ()

Hi:I have had the AM radios from my corvairs rebuilt and I am in need on the 12v plug that goes into the back. If anyone has some extras or knows where to get them please let me know. Electronic parts stores seem to be getting harder to find. Thanks Steve.

Steve - I am not sure it is the same for all years, but the 65-66 has a 3-prong plug that slides into the radio, from the speaker. Two of the wires feed out to the speaker from the radio, The third wire feeds power in, and is fed by a power wire from the harness. Do you need the plastic connector for the single prong that slides into the back of the three prong? Or do you need the three place connector from the speaker? The three prong normally stays with the speaker, the single prong remains with the power harness.

Seth, same for all years AFAIK.

On the workbench I just use 1/4" quick disconnect terminals and some heat shrink.

But most any Monza or Corsa being parted out should have the connector hanging, at least the one with the (yellow?) wire for power, the speaker plug may have gone with the speaker.

I'vs seen new ones for sale for other chevy models for the same era. Same from 64-68 on most GM cars.

Sorry. Here is the correct one. Same price from Heartbeat City. Same price. I would purchase the other one and cut off the unneeded connector. Better servicefrom Camaro Central.

That first one is also for later OEM speakers with the mating plug. Just cut it off for other speakers.
