EM back up lights not working

I have no backup lights....EM 4 speed....good ground no 12V at socket. Engine harness is new and lamps test fine when wired direct. Would appreciate your help, thanks

Next step; connect the two wires for the BU switch use a straight pin if no other breaks in insulation.

Either lights will light [ bad switch ] or fuse will blow [short somewhere.]

If you find the blower motor fuse has blown, and after replacing it, it blows again, try checking to be sure the blower motor dropping resistor asm. that lives in the right hand defroster duct near the top hasn't worked loose and become grounded! Great place for an intermittent short that blows the fuse when hitting bumps...

Just don't ever touch that resistor while it is on, or just shortly after being turned off ! ! !

Yeah an old girlfriend of mine like to shoot the straw wrapper off the straws till one day it hit the windshield went down the defroster duct smoked and caught on fire.

Is there a picture of this resistor in place that anyone could share? Now i am curious if this has been the root of my backup light and heater issue in my EM
