Turbo parts Identification

Anyone have the link to turbo parts ID ? Someone(and I'd like to thank that person) has a page showing turbo castings and how to identify them. Maybe even the exhaust piping is there. I have various turbo parts in boxes that need ID'ing.

Going through my '64 Spyder fuel system and I tore down the carb. Found it had a '62 body and wrong jets. I believe the carb bodies are all the same, just differing needle and jets. No problem there, but the turbo housing has lost it's tag. I'd like to get this all correct for a '64.

casting numbers for Corvair YH

1962-----1392--jet 166---rod---1612
1963-----1507--jet 166---rod---1612
1963-----1580--jet 170---rod---1623
1964-----1580--jet 161---rod---1629
1965-----1750--jet 159---rod---1654
1965-----1769--jet 257---rod---1716
1966-----1769--jet 257---rod---1716

There are other details in the carbs that differ. Probably best to buy the late Bob Helts' book about YH carbs.

best wishes, Steve

Turbo housing has lost its tag? I remember the 65-66 180 turbo part number ended in 709. 64 ended in 830. 63 was 651. 62 said "Turbocharger".

The bodies are not all the same.
The casting numbers on the top half are different
The 180 turbo carbs have a larger venturi.
And rods and jets to match.

Thanks Steve. Yep, I have Bob Helts excellent carburetor books. I'm going through my Carter carbs now to get the '64 all correct.

Timothy, under where the tag once was, there's stamping TC-7-59. I know, never seen another turbo housing missing the tag.

Hi Bob, the top castings for the carbs are indeed different for '65 and '66. Also, changed pump discharge nozzles in the body.

I'm still not sure of all the differences in B flow and F flow hot and cold sides by just the castings. The F flow will have a bigger throttle body, but there must be a lot of details besides that.

Previous post I said "The F flow will have a bigger throttle body"
Wrong. Throttle body is the same. It was the carb venturi that went from 1 5/16 to 1 3/8

That turbo is a 62-63 b flow on the hot side. The 64 exhaust housing uses a different style exhaust gasket and the outlet pipe is also different. Can't tell if the compressor is b or f from those pictures.

Nate is right. 64 used an exhaust donut on the outlet pipe and 62-63 used an exhaust gasket.

Ok, early b flow exhaust housing. Explains why my exhaust outlet was a mess. Exhaust pipe has the flare for donut gasket.
Couple more pics.
