One Rear Engine /MID radiator v8's overheating solved!

Jim Briggs Fought his for a few years and several hundred miles.

I stopped by while traveling and we went for a ride.. sure enough the faster we went the hotter it got...slow way down and it would cool slightly!

I jumped out during a stop and sure enough his tailpipes where Snowflake WHITE!!

A Rejet of the carb the next week and it runs cool. The reason he never checked was it was a brand new EdleBrock / Carter AFB supposedly jetted for his exact engine and ran perfectly!

Before Tony asks, Radiator was over transaxle. Small scoop under car, electric fans..hot air exited out rear window vent! He lives in Vislia, central Calif. and it gets 100+F in the Summer.

Eric / Playerpage may know him? He was a member here prior to 2005 when a software update lost all old files and we started over.

Very good cooling option to know for a future project. Found a link from 2009, as well as a U-T video, but didn't have details on cooling system? Any other sources? I was AWOL from the Corvair world for about 30 years, so didn't know if this build was done long ago, or in the recent past. TIA, Scott.

It was detailed here in the early 2000's. All lost I'll contact Jim to see if he still has digital pics.

Thanks, Matt. I got a set of the reverse rotation cam/distributor gears for my Buick 215 from Jim a few months ago. I would really appreciate knowing how he set up his cooling system.
