Best all round ignition system for street turbo-

I think I want to upgrade my points system on my 66' turbo to something more reliable, and cost effective- I know you can spend anywhere from $300 to $3000 on a upgraded system but what is the best blend of performance, reliability, reasonable cost, and ease of installation.
I don't want to offend any member/vendors so if you have really bad review of any system please PM me and I know all the ssystems/combos have their disadvantages as well as advantages- just looking for what the consensus recommendation might be.

When I first purchased my '65 Corsa Turbo, I also wanted to update my ignition system. I installed a FAST XR-700 (used to be Crane XR-700). It was easy to install and I never had any problems with it.

I also installed the FAST PS20 coil.

Most everyone I know that has installed this ignition has good things to say about it. Search the forum for XR700 - there is lots of info here.

Least expensive that will just gain reliability is probably the FAST box. If you want increased performance add the CD Performance Black Box. If you have more to spend add a Safeguard.
If you want to get complicated and spend more money go with a crank triggered system.

I bought an Allison/Crane/FAST XR-700 in 1970 and used it on my 6-cylinder Triumph and 4 Corvairs over many years and it was still working on my 1966 Turbo Corsa when I sold it in 2006!

The body was rusting out but the engine was strong. The buyer agreed to pay my asking price IF I left the XR-700in p!ace.

If you want the best "bang for your buck" ( and you don't want to set a speed record at Salt Lake) get an XR-700!
