In my opinion, Buying the car advertised by Chris Shade without actually seeing it in person and having it shipped would be less of a risk and probably a better overall vehicle. I suspect it would be the better value in the long run. I simply posted these vehicles to offer choices for the O.P. I can lead to a vehicle, but can't force a sale.eye rolling smiley

Do you think it’s a good option ?

Options include: factory air conditioning, factory AM/FM radio, factory rear speaker, bumper guards, factory oil bath air cleaner, rear seat belts, factory tinted windows, etc. This car also has an electric fuel pump, electronic ignition and a "seat extender" for the driver's seat which gives the driver approximately 3-4" more legroom. We have also gone through all of the brakes and master cylinder as well as a new fuel tank, sending unit, etc. This classic Corvair is ready to go! Feel free to contact Chris Shade at (402) 460-7097 with further questions. Thank you!

Did anyone happen to notice that the receiver drier had only one hose going to it? This should make for interesting cooling, especially since there is no belt on the compressor either.

The only way to get an idea if the Red 500 sedan is a good option or not would be to actually look at the car.
It would be advisable to give it a good going over, preferably accompanied by someone who knows these vehicles and can offer a reliable opinion.
Two sets of eyes are better than one.
After 50 plus years there is a good chance the car may have had a questionable history of treatment and upkeep both mechanically and physically.
There is also a small chance it was treated well but you won't know that unless you look at it.
ASK the seller how long they have owned it, what repairs and or maintenance history they can provide.
Since the paint is resale red and the interior is not even close to stock, I would inquire about how long ago both were done.
IF the seller has had the vehicle less than five years and the paint is less than ten years old I would suspect this was a P.O.S. that someone did quickie work on in order to make a quick buck.
Look under the vehicle at the suspension and steering components, check the known rust prone areas with a magnet, look at other items such as carpets, weatherstrips and if there is still an interest, take it for a long test drive over a variety of road surfaces and speeds, test the brakes and steering often during the test drive. Sudden acceleration and stops a couple times might be warranted.
As I mentioned before....TAKE your time looking. IF a particular vehicle is right for you and your budget, you will hopefully know it.

In this specific situation, I would first inquire why the asking price change from $7,000 to $8,000. IF you don't get a satisfactory answer then you might be better off looking elsewhere.

Another Bump to the top.

Well it appears the seller has once again "adjusted" the asking price as it is now at $7,500
Maybe it is a $4,000 car and the seller is hoping for more.confused smiley

He was also intersted in my More Door, but he thought he saw better possibilities on here. So I dropped him from my PMs.

Wishful thinker, more than likely. Too bad, could have been another youngster getting into them.
