Anyone selling their ‘Vair ?
Posted by: Jaslinmnz ()
Date: May 23, 2020 10:56AM

I’m looking to buy a new (& my first) car & I'm really interested in it being a Corvair. Since I work Mon-Fri it has to be in condition to be a daily driver.

Interested in a coupe, 4door or convertible. Automatic transmission.
The year doesn’t matter too much but my preference is probably later models such as a ‘66. Color doesn’t matter.

I’m open to traveling out of state as long as it isn’t too far away.

If you can attach any pictures that would be greatly appreciated.

Temple (Berks county), PA

They’re gorgeous but NC is a little far. I’ll still keep it in mind though I appreciate the reaching out.

This very nice Corvair sedan has many "modern" amenities to make it truly a joy to drive, including: air conditioning, Autometer GPS speedometer, tach, modern DIN radio and custom speakers in the rear window cargo area and power glide automatic transmission. The car was stripped down to bare metal in 2005 and painted. The floorpans were replaced at this time as well and POR-15 inside and out. Other upgrades also include: 95hp engine rebuild in 2017 with full-finned cylinders, LeVeque performance heads, 12 plate oil cooler and Clark's aluminum oil pan. The alternator is upgraded to a more modern, internally related "10 SI" 63 amp alternator. The carbs were rebuilt by Steve Goodman in 2017 as well. The windows have been tinted to 35% and the car also has full gauges such as oil pressure, oil temperature, and voltmeter. The car also has a dual master cylinder and GM Rally wheels with new tires in 2017. Window are no longer tinted as per nys law

What is your price cap? Do you care if it does not have nice paint job or interior?

The highest I can go is $10,000 maybe $11,000. Paint & interior don’t have to be perfect

Here is a car being advertised by Shade's Classic Cars for $7,995

[shadesclassiccars.com]

1965 Chevrolet Corvair Monza Sedan, 4 door, A/C - Stk# 2361

This highly optioned 1965 Corvair Monza sedan is a great daily-driver with many nice options for greater creature-comfort. Options include: factory air conditioning, factory AM/FM radio, factory rear speaker, bumper guards, factory oil bath air cleaner, rear seat belts, factory tinted windows, etc. This car also has an electric fuel pump, electronic ignition and a "seat extender" for the driver's seat which gives the driver approximately 3-4" more legroom. We have also gone through all of the brakes and master cylinder as well as a new fuel tank, sending unit, etc. This classic Corvair is ready to go! Feel free to contact Chris Shade at (402) 460-7097 with further questions. Thank you!

Here is another from Shades Classic Cars for $8,495

1965 Chevrolet Corvair Monza 110/PG Convertible - Stk# 2233

This Monza convertible is a true survivor car that has the original engine, paint, top, interior, etc! It was owned by the same family since 1971 and resided in Kansas for the majority of its life. The car currently has 68,700 miles on it as well as a factory AM radio and optional power top as well. We have gone through the car and replaced all of the pushrod tube O-rings, rocker stud seals, etc. as well as rebuilt the brakes (wheel cylinders, shoes, rubber lines, master cylinder, etc). Here is a chance to own an original piece of history!

While a convertible is nice in the summer time, they can get a bit cold in the winter. A big disadvantage of a convertible is if it is locked, some may be tempted to open it by slicing the top. I learned that the hard way....

Here is a craigslist listing from the Washington DC metro area. I am not familiar with this vehicle r the seller.
The interior is NOT stock and may not suit everyone but it may be worth looking at since it is on the East Coast.
The phone is a Maryland number Three,Zero,One-Two,One,Nine-Zero,Two,Four,Three The Contact name is Liam.

[washingtondc.craigslist.org]

Selling my 1965 Chevy Corvair. I was planning an electric conversion, but don’t have the time now.
This car turns heads everywhere it goes. It’s in great condition, no rust, runs and rides smooth. It has new shocks, new rims, new locks, new weather stripping, clean interior, I replaced some hoses to fix oil leaks, but otherwise all original engine parts.
Clean title in hand.
Car also comes with original owners manual, repair manual, a few parts, and the stock rims.
I’m asking $7000 obo. I really just want it to go to someone who will appreciate this for the classic that it is. Any questions please ask.

Free Bump to top...
I noticed this afternoon the ad for the red '65 500 Sedan has been "Updated" about an hour ago.
This car now has a new and improved asking price of only $8,000 instead of the initial $7,000 price.
Maybe if the seller waits long enough, the price can continue going up and up.confused smiley

Penn.?
