205/70X14 are almost exactly the same revolutions per mile as the old 7.00X13 tires (used on 66 - 69 models). A bonus is the 205 is a little wider. For stock rim offset there is plenty of wheel well room.

205/70R14 front and 225/60R14 rears would work nicely.

It does depend on your wheel width and backspacing somewhat although I don't have any recommendations.
For instance, would a 225 tire be getting sort of wide for a 6" wheel? I don't know the answer but it would be one of my questions.

Yes it would be wide for a 6" wheel. According to Tire Rack the spec on that tire in BF Goodrich is for a 6-8" wheel.

I run a 235/60X14 on the rear and it JUST fits nicely on a 7" wide rim. I doubt it would fit well on a 6" rim.

The 205/70X14 will fit either 6" or 7' wide rims.

BF Goodrich makes a 235/60X14 in the TA series. Not a common size. The 235/60X14 is slightly small diameter (more revolutions per mile) than the stock 7.00X13 and the 245/60X14 is slightly larger. Also you really should use a 8" wide rim for a 245/60X14.

Note: I'd suggest a 4.5" backspace for a 7" rim or you risk the tire hitting the wheel well lip on LM cars.
