cool smiley . Offenhauser FOUR Carb. Manifolds on a 140 ? cool smiley

I bought a set of these, but am not going to use them.
These are for adding a second set of carbs onto any of the single carb heads.
These fit everything BUT 140's.
The log portion is too narrow to match a 140 manifold.
These require milling off the top of the intake log, and welding these on.
These intakes increase the plenum volume to improve flow capacity of the intake.
To fully take advantage of the increase capacity I would suggest larger exhaust logs, such as the Kostich manifolds, or even Headers with these.

Those fit 140 heads just the same, those are the only intakes OFFY makes.

Yes Dave, I guess I was wrong to imply that you CAN NOT use these with a 140 head, but for MY USE, I am concerned about the irregular flow characteristic that may ensue from such an installation.
I am talking about the difference in intake log dimensions that I have hi-lighted in RED on your picture.
I have made a (crude) diagram of what I am talking about.
My drawing represents a cross-section of the intake log with the Offenhauser intake installed.
If this feature does not bother someone, then by ALL MEANS, I will glady let them buy them!
I just want people to be aware of the feature that rules them out for my use. sad smiley

I am not understanding your point here? The OFFY intakes double the plenum volume on a 140, smooth out the intake track and rotate the carbs to prevent flooding in hard cornering, vastly superior to the stock 140 intake track, so my point is, these work great on a 140 head as well as adding carbs to the smaller bore heads, they are a Win win for both heads.

You may be right Dave.
I may be overthinking this.
I am just concerned about strange turbulence and air disrupted airflow due to the 90 degree angle in the upper corner of the plenum where the difference is sizes meet.

It does look like where the Offy manifold joins the head that it has a pretty decent match there (look down the carb pad hole to see the joint). If a guy didnt like that, its not too hard to match the seams by making a template for the head opening and laying it on the Offy manifold opening and match them better before welding.
