Hello, newbie here. New to posting, that is. I've been following and reading this site for several years and find it quite entertaining as well as informative.

Quick, short bio: I'm retired after 30+ years supporting mainframe applications for an insurance company.

My Corvair connection is a 1966 Crown conversion. I've owned it for twenty years. It's spent most of its life in a garage until about 6 years ago, I had a local shop resurrect it to bare bones street use. I get my thrills by taking it out about once a week, ten days, and making sure brakes, suspension, coolant, steering and engine are all properly exercised.

Now I'll try to include a picture or two.

OK, my editing skills stink. I got a photo in view in Paint, but can not get it to cut/paste into here. Admittedly, I even have trouble trying to upload photos from my phone to my PC. Nothing is smooth and practiced.

Welcome to CCF. While taking a break fooling around with attaching pics share your location and at least first name.

Have you found the V8 Registry? Look at www.corvair.org for local Corvair club info too. I always suggest joining a local club as well as CORSA.

EDIT to say forget my comment about adding your name, it is your user name. Shame on me for not noticing it when I replied. I just looked back at the screen and saw it. Been a long day already.

best wishes, Steve

Yes, I am aware of the V-8 Registry and plan to document my car there once I complete my introduction on this forum.

My location is San Francisco Bay Area, San Rafael to be specific.

Still playing with photo posting. Any help is appreciated. (Yes, Matt I have done a search. but scrolling thru 20 pages of results is a bit much.) gg

Well disregard my comments about local clubs too Boyd, I just looked in CORSA roster to see who else lived near you and you already belong to CORSA.

Guess I had better just say WELCOME and let others have a turn. ggg

best wishes, Steve

Welcome - You probably know of Chuck Rust and his Crown V8 in the SCC club in Torrance, CA.

Chuck is a great guy and always willing to help Crown V8 owners. If you don't have his number, then PM me for it.

Boyd! Welcome! Now that you've figured out how to post a picture (it took me a bit and I'm a software guy too), could you send me a picture of how you mounted the hood pins to the body of the car?
Thx,
Ken
