An extension of cabin fever
Posted by: 2ragtops ()
Date: March 24, 2020 08:05PM

Waited all winter to get out of the house. Worked on cars, caught up on honey-do's.

Now I am getting cabin virus. Can't go out even if I dared to, nothing is open, nowhere to go.

All car cruises and shows are cancelled.

Ah, more time to attend to the Vairs.

No car bud's nearby? My neighbor just got his '79 Dodge Warlock on the street. Samman1st lives down the road and is doing the paint on his '59 Camino. after 3 months of prep by He and his bother...after weeks of bodywork... It is straight and every piece fits, seams are equal!

I don't need no "stinkin cruises, shows" Now if only a friend owned a Theater or a Casino!! GGG

Do what I do get your asses into the cars and hit the open road several hours a day. Always something different to catch the eye. At 73 I still love to "cruise". Nothing was anymore boring than as a teen cruising up, down and around the same old streets of small town mid America night after night. eye rolling smileyeye popping smiley Mike

Mikey, many have "Shelter at Home" orders. Small towns seem to be no problem...but larger cities???

I enjoyed nearly empty streets today driving my car to work.
Plan to drive it in tomorrow too. Now is a good time just to go drive. Did that Sunday for an hour.

Drove my Corvair to work today. Traffic is light because many people on base are working from home. That is not possible for my job.

Since I don't normally drive to work, but I have to be onsite right now, I have been having to drive the old cars. The new corvair burst its fuel pump. So I had to drive my '62 Buick today.

That is quite the sacrifice having to drive that beautiful Buick... When better cars are built, Buick will build them!

An ad slogan that first appeared in 1911, "When better automobiles are built, Buick will build them," would be revived several times in the decades ahead. The roaring '20s saw great success against Ford Motor Co.; Buick sold more than 230,000 cars in 1926 with little fanfare or marketing.

The 1960's had the best styling for American cars, in my opinion.

Nice ride Geoff! I love the bright white interior w/ red exterior. We are at work and open for business as usual. Car count seems low but we are still working.
Auto repair is considered essential as are the liquor stores.

We would normally be in the Fl Keys right now with our motorhome, but they are closed down along with many other distinations. Not to mention RV parks and roadside rests, plus 2 week self quarantine when enter some states.

Thanks for the comments on the Buick folks. It has been the bane of my old car hobby for 20 years. It is finally kind of coming together. Craig Nicols fuse panel made a big difference! It was plagued for years with issues from a badly corroded fuse box.

I have another kind of cabin fever. I'm stuck in the office while everyone else is out.

So here is the one I drove to work today.
