OT - Baby boom!!
Posted by: 66vairman ()

I was talking with a nurse who told me the medical staff had a meeting about a possible increase in births nine months from now.

I recall the great New York City blackout in July of 1977 - lots of new babies nine months later.

Will it be Generation V for virus?

Or Generation C for Corona/Covid?

Officially it's Generation Alpha right now.

All children born entirely in the 2000's.

I know this because...call me Gramps.

As long as they are not the ones who will be raised to be looking for handouts in another fifteen to eighteen years, I'll be OK with it.

Well at least they are made in USA version and not an import. Please just take that as a wise crack.

It takes more than two children per couple to keep the population stable. We've been under that for a while.
A quick search claims that we need 2.07 children that survive to child bearing age. That would be higher that 2.07 births.

Don't worry about a baby boom; we are all keeping a six distance from each other.I don't know about you but that distance should lower the chance for a baby boom.

Some friends of ours got married last Saturday. I told them it was terrible timing since they had to stay six feet apart.
