Tires for 1965 Corvair Corsa

I have the Corvair Tech Guide that lists all possible tire sizes. I know the original size tires are recommended, but would a BFG Radial T/A-Size: P205/60R13 work on a 1965 Corvair. Tire Rack shows this tire as available. Just checking to see if anyone is aware of this size tire causing any problems? Would you recommend using this size tire or tire? In comparison, the 205/60r13 looks smaller than a 185/70r13, so it appears that the 205/60 might not look right on a Corvair! Thanks for any advice.

Ed, The 50/60/70's are performance tires for our Corvairs...short and shorter!

It would take a 245/60-13 to look and be right for an often driven Vair.. and not made...

For street.... 185/80's Black or white..

For street "performance" 205/60-15's...many of us use them

I don't have much experience trying to find a 13 inch tire, but just so you know lots of people stick 14in and 15 in and some people go as high 17in on their wheels so they can use larger tires.

So far as "causing problems", the answer is no.
It will make your speedometer read a couple miles per hour higher though.
As for looks on an LM?
That I could not say.
I ran them on my '61 years ago and they looked great!
But like I said, the speed was off when on the freeway.

Check-out what different sizes look like with a tire calculator.

I run 205/60-13 on 7" wide wheels, on my autocross car. Hoosiers!

Those are 2" shorter than stock and will make the speedometer read 8.1% fast and they usually run fast anyway so it will probably be more like 10%.

8% shorter than stock resulting in 8% higher RPM at any given speed and a speedo that reads 8% high all the time.
