"Newbie" here

I've been lurking here for a few months, but I guess I should introduce myself. My name is Bob Greeney. I've loved Corvairs since they first came out (even though I was only 10, my love of cars started early). A friend in college had a 62 coupe (500 I think) and we share the commute to university. We had a blast in that car. I finally had a chance to buy my own late last year (2019). It's a 64 Monza Spyder convertible. When I had my mechanic look it over (I'm not much of a DIYer), he said it doesn't look like it's ever been restored, just normal maintenance work. Right now it's being worked on to replace mostly wear items (bushing, bearings, etc.). The odometer is not working (speedo is), so I don't know how close the 54,769 miles is to actual. No rust, no leaks. Several options. This car checked all of the boxes for me.

Nice car! Looks like it's very well optioned. I see luggage rack, bumper guards, door guards, stone guards, wood wheel, compass, padded dash, gas door guard and then the wheels with the Spyder model. Yes all boxes checked for sure!

Very nice car for sure! If it does not need to be restored (survivor) then I would not do it. We have more restored cars these days than original ones.

I prefer survivors. As much as I can appreciate restoration/restomod and custom alterations, this car is more to my liking. It's like a piece of history.

Nice car, I prefer survivors myself. If you need any parts check out the Corvair Ranch outside Gettysburg.
