I know the Spyder had a brushed dash cluster and glovebox but what about the radio faceplate? EddieB Dade City Fl

Spyder radio faceplate is matte-finish stainless steel.

Here's the one on my 63 Spyder. Not positive it is original to the car, though.

Thanks Joel.
Do you know which bezel would come with a Monza Spyder?

They are smooth to match the dash & glove box.

Clarks sells a nice adhesive that makes a non spyder plate look like one. much cheaper than forking out $40+ fr a nice used one

Not able to take better pics right now, but this is what my 64 Monza Spyder dash/radio looks like.

To Ron in Indy, you don't have a Monza bezel but rather a 1963 (non Spyder) bezel.
I believe ALL the Spyder radio bezels are the same for all 3 years.

Steve offers: 62 has a dull finish but 63-4 has a more polished and shiny finish.

Thanks guys,
I had no idea there were so many variations on the radio bezels for Corvair Spyders. I think I may have the original style in my box of stuff that came with the car. I'll take a look and see if it is salvageable. Obviously, I am not too concerned with "bone stock" as evidenced by the aftermarket (but vintage?) gauges under the radio. I thought about removing them when I first got the car, but I really like having a real time reading for oil pressure/temp. The analog clock even works and keeps good time.thumbs up Anyone know who sold these and about how old they may be?
Cheers,
Ron in Indy (FL)

There are only 2 variations of the Spyder radio trim plate.. 1962, and then the 1963/1964, when the radio changed from a tube radio to an all transistor radio in 1963.
As for who made the gauges in your car, check the back of the gauge, because many times, the manufacture would stamp their name on the back, and there might also be a rubber stamp of the date of manufacture.
