web searches coming up dry.

i happened to be at the yard looking for a parts car to scavenge some parts for my shelby charger, when i happened across a 67 500 that was not listed on their website.

also grabbed the alternator mount.

i forgot to check for short arms, but ill be going back this weekend and can take a look.

Wiki sez:
Engines are either an air-cooled, 4- or 6-cylinder aircraft or water-cooled, large-displacement, V8 automotive engine, ranging from 50 to over 600 hp. Automotive engines tend to be less expensive due to readily-available replacement parts and less expensive high octane automotive gas. Since an opposed, 4- or 6-cylinder (O4 or O6) aircraft powerplant contains fewer moving parts than a standard automotive engine, it is easier to repair and weighs less.[3][1] However, automotive engines can be repaired by more-common car mechanics and do not require specialized repair personnel like aircraft engines do.[5]

Most of the sound produced by an airboat comes from the propeller, although the engine itself also contributes some noise. Modern airboat designs are significantly quieter thanks to mufflers and multi-blade carbon-fiber propellers.[citation needed]

So, just how many KNOWN varieties of Corvair valve covers are there?
I know of the following.
Original stamped sheetmetal of course, and then all of the following in aluminum, plus a few in Magnesium.
Clark's
Otto Parts
Econo
Offenhauser
SCPerformance
Mecey
Cyclone
And I have a set of Clifford 6=8 Aluminum Corvair valve covers. (Some IDIOT milled the CLIFFORD name off of them, but left the 6=8 )
How many more brands are out there?
.
It would be really cool if someone were to make some that resemble these classic "Corvette" Aluminum valve covers but make the say "Corvair"!

IECO sold valve covers. Don't think they had the name on them though. No one ever raved about how good they were, that says it all IMO.

IECO did sell covers- I have a set, and they have the IECO logo in the centers. They are actually not too bad - they have a nice 'rim' around the gasket area, to hold the gasket.

Hi Shant,

Thanks for sharing. On Friday my dad drove up from San Diego to grab the interior and was able to get the rear seat and front bench seat! thumbs up

Unfortunately, it looked like someone recently tore each door panel and the headliner down as if they were looking for something. thumbs down

But my dad did help remove the dual master cylinder for a guy who had an early model, he intern helped my dad remove the seats.

Harry,

Thats great to hear. I actually went back last Saturday to specifically look for you. Saw that it was all gone and was disappointed. But very glad to hear that it was you that took them.

Unfortunately they do not treat these cars very well at the local yards. people get a kick out of destroying them. There was a 1986 turbo plymouth Laser there that you could tell was someones baby. Inside and out was perfect. You could tell it had been garaged its entire life, and IMO should have been donated to a preservation effort of some sort. it looked like someone used a hammer and bashed every single piece of the interior. stabbed the dash, doors and door panels with a screwdriver.
just for the hell of it. ill never understand. that car would have been a dream find for a enthusiast.

its a shame because that 67 corvair was very clean and would have made a great car for someone. i took a quick peak inside the engine and it looks to have been recently rebuilt. its spotless inside. i was actually going to make a thread about it to see if its worth going back and doing a compression test.
