Anyone interested in a FRONT LM Disc Brake that fits behind 13" steel and Wire wheels?
Posted by: MattNall ()

I always ask here first! GG Parts are available from any Auto parts store. Very little machining on REAR of hub and rotor center.

9.6" rotor 2000-2005 $15 on ebay

Single piston Caliper 2008-18 $31 on ebay

No wheel offset from stock!

I just got the bracket worked out... what I will sell

Will work on EM in the future....

Correct... no room...and few small diameter Vented!

No need on a street car... you actually want the brakes to heat up on our fronts.

My Fiero HAD solid rotors and I very quickly changed them out for the vented Grand Am brakes. The solid rotors were so cheap they rusted at the drop of a hat and then they warped so bad when you used them. This was my everyday driver for a while!

There are already parts out there to work under 13" slotted aluminum rims with only slight mods, not sure about stock rims but once I get them mounted I'll let you know.

Also I will be using the 2.75" piston calipers for the front and 2.5" for the rear when I get to them. That way I need less bias adjustment.

I'm concentrating on fit for stock STEEL.. and hope for wire wheels... and "low cost"...as always.

It will be great to have more choice! Only the Colt system was available for earlies...

And from what I've read .... $800-$1200 for what I'm designing. $300-$400 total for my system depending on your machine shop. $75 hr.???

Got solid rotors on my MGB and they don't warp, goodness knows I've run them plenty hot. Must be cheap metal on those.

Put me on the interest list for an EM setup!

If doing rears too, folks could do this for the e-brake..

Corvairs have a lever under the dash that you pull to set the e-brake.

The E-Stopp system eliminates this lever under the dash & replaces it with an electric push button switch.

So the only thing that the E-Stopp does is change setting the e-brake from manual to electric. You still have to have e-brakes on your car for the e-stopp to function.

E-Stopp is similar to a power door lock solenoid in that you still need the lock mechanism in the door, you are simply converting from manual to electric.

Therefore if you are running rear disc brakes you will need an e-brake system. You can operate it with the OEM manual lever under the dash or spend $450.00 + on the E-Stopp & push a button to set the e-brake.

Matt,
I am interested in a set of the brackets for beta testing.
Also, curious why EM would be different, possibly the disc ?
Can the pictured disc stud pattern be re-drilled to 4 stud holes.
Or is the ID hole different?
