radio bezel gauge plate ?

Has anyone ever made up a gauge plate to fit the radio opening on a LM ? I was looking at it and thought it would be a good spot for gauges. I dont really want to cut the dash above it.

Bosch make a couple of dash kits that include three 1 1/2" gauges. They are Mechanical, so the only way the temp gauge works is for the race cars with front mounted coolers. The oil pressure can be plumbed and the voltmeter is an easy hook-up. A small aluminum plate can be mounted to a stock radio faceplate and mounted in that location. AutoGage a division of Autometer sells a series of 1 1/2" electric gauges that will also fit there. Pressure/Temp/Volts.

Get a radio delete (okay, not technically delete - more like no radio option) plate and cut holes in it. Then you still have the ignition text and lighter text in place as well.

Please don't cut holes in a good factory delete plate. If you want to - I have a couple delete plates that already have drilled holes, or dents, or bent, etc that would be better for that....

Water temp gauge can be used for oil. But mechanical ones have a fixed length input line. Unless designed for it (Stewart-Warner made an extra long one, many years ago) It won't reach from the dash to the motor.
