15x7 IROC wheels - Center caps?
Posted by: 66Monza140 ()

For those who are running the 15" Iroc wheels, what are you running for center caps, and what did you use for the emblem on the end of the cap?
I found a set of black with no "cap" on the end to put with my wheels, does anyone know what size/diameter the emblem end is?
Can't really have it say Z28 now, can I.....
Thanks in advance.

On a set I had, the 'Z28' was inset inside a clear 'bubble' type sticker.

I painted the entire centercap, sticker and all....no more Z28.

I'm running 16" IROC wheels on my wife's '65 Monza coupe. I found billet aluminum center caps with the Chevy bowtie emblem embossed in on eBay. They look fantastic!

I found these:Jegs
but they do not come with the center Emblem...
Need to find something to put in there.

Not the best photo to show them off but I found some round stickers on ebay with Chevy bowties for my Toro V8 center caps. Got the aftermarket center caps there too.

There seems to be some confusion here. The center caps linked to are not IROC center caps and the wheels on the white car are not IROC wheels. The 15x7 IROC wheels do exist but I've never seen any. Most were 16x8. They had small disks maybe 2" for center caps.
The white wheels above are standard '82-'92 Z-28 & RS wheels.
'66Monza are you asking about Z-28 or IROC wheels?
Here's a site that shows pictures of the different wheels:

My bad, the wheels I have are the Z28 wheels off an 1982 Indy 500 Pace Car, have the one year red stripe on the outer edge. They are 15x7.

So, I was accidentally correct. grinning smiley

Joel is right. Mine pictured are the Z-28 15 x 7's.

I had custom ones made for the centers of my bmw wheels. The company is at www.3dcarstickers.com and they make any size you want. They are somewhere in Europe so it took a month to get them but they were only around $20. I couldnt find a US company...

Sorry for the confusion.

As far as I can tell, 15" IROC were standard on 88-90 IROC, with 16" being an upgrade. Earlier IROC were 16".

I know, different wheels but you may be able to add this nice touch like I did to my BMW wheels. The center waffle plates are machined from billet aluminum with billet screw on hex nuts and a horn button fits perfectly in the center of the nut, with the addition of a polycarbonate hub centric ring around the circumference to fill the gap. You may be able to do something similar with the camaro hubcaps.

The 15 x 7 Z28 wheels used several different caps over the 9+ years of use. Some of the caps were all plastic and just snapped on with little pins to locate them. After installation, this style cap can just pop off. There are better ones with integral metal tabs which extend through a little and lock better into place. Look at the aftermarket for replacements. Most of the aftermarket come without the center sticker - because Chevy wants a fee for use of the Chevy Bow-tie or the Z28. You can get stickers on line (sometimes outside of the US!) which will work. You could also modify and install some type of Corvair emblem like used above. One of the best things about these wheels is hat they are hub centric on the Corvair. Be sure to get the correct "Bulge" type lug nuts. Stock Corvair ones will not work. The same goes for the Camaro nuts, they are 12mm, instead of 7/16-20.
