() Date: November 27, 2019 10:22AM Introducing myself. I recently acquired a 1965 Corsa Coupe. Although It is the most recent Corvair for me, I’ve owned many in the past. I spent many years as Doug Hargrove’s crew chief racing SCCA on the west coast. I picked up this Corsa, a deal I couldn’t turn down. It’s a little rough, has some rust issues, but mostly there and fairly straight. As an original Corsa Turbo, so it’s definitely worth saving! () Date: November 28, 2019 06:00AM The first disc brakes I put on my SCCA EP Corvair were said to be from Doug Hargrove's Corvair. Big GM cast iron calipers with the rear caliper brackets welded on top of the trailing arms. Front Chevelle rotors with integral hubs that increase front track by 1". I got the assemblies from Jeff Moore in Missouri. He recently acquired a '60 4-door that was raced in SCCA early on. There's a fellow on here whose wife raced a Corvair in SCCA, I'm thinking Rocky Mountain rather than West Coast but maybe there was some crossover. Are you still on the west coast? Still active with SCCA at all? Still have some Corvair special little tools in the drawer? Jim Brandberg Isanti, MN CorvairRepair.com ![]() Re: Old to Corvairs, new to forum Posted by:

() Date: November 28, 2019 12:52PM Still on the west coast. Doug and I stay in touch, occasionally Autocross together. He has an Fmod car. The brakes sound appropriate to Doug’s old car. I haven’t had a Corvair of my own for a long, long time. The one I picked up happened to be an old friend from school, long time Corvair enthusiast. This car was originally a turbo, but had a 110 in it. Re: Old to Corvairs, new to forum Posted by:

() Date: November 28, 2019 04:14PM Hey there from Porterville California! There is a San Joaquin Valley Corvair club, most of the members are out of Fresno. Mike S.(viewmaster on this forum) is a member. 1966 Corsa 180 Turbo myself. Though all indications are that it started as a Corsa 140. I don't have plans to change it back! ____________________________________________ Eric C. () Date: November 28, 2019 04:33PM As far as pictures go find a hosting service you like, I used to use Photobucket until they wanted money, now I use Imgur but there is also Postimage. With those they supply you with the correct code to post directly here without any resizing. Then you can also put that right in the text. Here is the code from Imgur with one digit removed img imghttps://i.imgur.com/MO9KVbrh.jpgimg This is what it generates, ![]() Ken Hand Handy Car Care 248 613 8586 Vairmech@aol.com Re: Old to Corvairs, new to forum Posted by:

() Date: November 28, 2019 09:41PM Eric, There’s a group in the Modesto area as well. Back in the 70s and 80s I belonged to CORSA and did a lot of autocrossing and crew work for Doug Hargrove. Although I’ve stayed in touch with my Corvair buddies, I hadn’t owned one in a long, long time. I’m looking forward to playing with one again! Re: Old to Corvairs, new to forum Posted by:
