It will be a pain, but I still think you need to check the voltage levels for each speed at the fan.

David - unfortunately there is no spec. for PM102 amperage in the docs. I've looked at.

I agree with Frank D., there is NO reason the PM 102 will not work with the properly functioning Corvair wiring, resistor pack, and switch.

I have used PWM control circuits and while they conserve energy, it's doubtful such a circuit would last as long as the basic heater motor resistor assembly.

NOTE the wire to the heater blower motor is 12 gauge and if it is damaged or corroded it can reduce amperage to the motor.

Its too cold out to work on it without a garage right now. Given the low value of the heater resistors I wonder if I need to clean all of the under dash resistor block contacts.
I'll try to measure the resistance of the wire to the blower under the car. Do you know where it taps off of the dash wiring?

Here is the wiring from a 66 Vair. I think it should be the same for the 69 heater.

Wires come from fan switch and go to right. They enter the trunk area at right side toe panel by glovebox. Make sure you don't have chafed wires at the feed thru. Might not be a dead short to blow a fuse.

Al
Thanks for the info--should help with systematic trouble shooting.
