I've used the Harbor Freight "no frills, no feature" battery maintainers for years. I had one of them (I have three going constantly) died in maybe 6 years of use. And contrary to some complaints, I've never had one kill a battery.

I've paid as little as $4.99 and I believe the 'non-sale, no coupon' price is about $7.99. Currently they are $5.99. [www.harborfreight.com] They won't charge a dead battery and they won't desulphate, but otherwise they get the job done.

My main complaint is the clips are cheap and subject to corrode easily.

I found some $5 off $15 purchase and $10 off $50.
They also have $50 if you sign up for their credit card. That makes 3 of them about $4 with the credit card or brings one down to $12.99 with the coupon.

My name is Mike Worrell living in southern Iowa my vairs are a 64 2dr convertible monza 900 with 110 motor 4 speed light yellow with blk interior. Then a few months ago I got a 65 2 Dr convertible monza 900 with 110 motor 4 speed
Also light yellow with blk interior. Not sure what gear ratio as of now I'll have a look and up date. I really like them both but really liking the 65. They really made a lot of changes in a 1 year difference ????

Same here on HF cheapo chargers, I have lots of them, Some I got for free. Since its only ten minutes to the store, I a junky. I lost a few over the years, but most they work well. Besides the stuff in my sig line I also have 3 riding lawn tractors. One is in a non power shed, thats the solar one. I also have a 99857 in the Vair, I guess thats discontinued, buts its working fine. I use the deluxe in the BMW and UTV because its hard to get to the battery terminals. Never paid list price for any of them. I hook one up to the car we leave behind when we take off for a month with the RV.

The Battery Minder is 1A. Here's what it says to use it on:
"all types and sizes of 12 Volt lead acid batteries, including all starter, deep cycle, maintenance-free, sealed AGM, or flooded batteries"
Not sure what a starter type battery is.

Same here on the harbor freight maintainers. I just had my first one probably 6 or 7 years old go bad. My 05 Chevy plow truck will drain the battery in about 3 weeks if left alone, no big deal just keep the maintainer plugged in. Went to start it the other day, battery almost dead, checked the maintainer and had 0 volts. Swapped out with a new one good to go. The led light will light when plugged into power or hooked to a battery, kind of misleading.

I am running AGM on some of the bikes, GEL on one and a deep cycle on the UTV. They work on all of them. I also added some 12V power plugs to the bikes . The kind that normally brick battery chargers. A lot faster to connect and disconnect.
