Was just sitting here reading the forum, and the radio suddenly changed format.
A trumpet began a unusual, and mournful solo.
I glanced down at the corner of my computer screen.
AHH!

The anniversary of the Great Armistice of WWI.
We owe an un-payable debt to ALL of our veterans, but none of them would have had any thing to fight for if our valiant soldiers of WWI had failed.

Both Grandfathers and my dad were in the Canadian armed forces. My dad was born on base in 1944. I was travelling today, but turned the truck radio off at 11:00 for 2 minutes as there was no pullout I could stop at.

Thank you to all those who have and are currently serving.

Thanks everyone. Army 69-72. One of my infamous duty stations was Viet Nam, below are some of the places and things while I was there.

I have to explain this one. We either flew 50' or 10,000'! With that we were doing 180 KNOTS, that is 207mph, and we would come across the water buffalo and they would run. This was taken with a Polaroid! Have you ever tried to time a polaroid camera? It took me 5 tries just to even get this close to getting them in the frame. This was taken from my door gunner position on the Chinook.

This is the OV-10A Bronco that I was training on in 72 and 73. I was on a schooling hold when the units having these planes were deployed back to states and Okinawa. So I never saw Vietnam service. But I bet a lot of you these planes out there flying around.
